What is Carcinoid Syndrome?

 

Carcinoid Syndrome refers to the symptoms which occur as a consequence of the actions of substances secreted by many carcinoid tumors. The substance considered to produce the majority of the syndrome’s symptoms is serotonin. The predominant symptoms which make up the syndrome include flushing, diarrhea and wheezing.
