Approximately 15 years ago, Richard R P Warner MD, the world’s most senior Carcinoid expert, invited Dr. Zacks to become a member of the team of experts who care for carcinoid and other neuroendocrine tumors. Dr. Warner’s vision was that, to successfully manage this disease, one had to employ the resources of multiple medical specialties, including gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiologists, nuclear medicine specialists, dermatologists, surgeons, pathologists and cardiologists. Since Dr. Zacks is a cardiologist who shares an interest in the cardiovascular health of Carcinoid and other Neuroendocrine patients, Dr.Warner enlisted him into his army….
